Polymer Clay Pendants
ANYTHING can pretty much be made out of polymer clay! There are so many different techniques and, many of them involve mixing media, which means including other materials such as metals, paints, dyes, electronic or watch parts to make retro-future or Steampunk style pieces, rhinestones, glitters, and even liquid polymer clay! I've only "played" with SOME of these techniques and so look forward to explore more of the possibilities out there! I make a mean Faux Turquoise (heehee... see below), and I have fun making "Lentil Beads" (made by placing a ball of clay between 2 plates of glass and rolling the top one back and forth until swirls begin to appear on the clay, which at that point, changes shape - see below as well), and "Snails" (made by rolling "snakes" of different colors of clay and twisting them together, then shaping the resulting log into a snail). I also make my own molds and use them to make different types of objects, including shells. Polymer clay also comes in gold, silver and copper, and there are mica-based powders that, applied to your work (especially before curing), will enhance the clay to almost a metallic effect. Below are a few examples of some things I've made. I will make sure to take photos of others and post them here very soon. Since anything can be reproduced, you may inquire about an idea you have or a photo you found in a magazine and I can most likely make it for you fairly quickly. There's nothing better than to have your own one-of-a-king CUSTOM JEWELRY!!! I also intend to make some Sci-Fi themed pendants in the near future, such as UFOs, Alien Heads, etc... ! Thank you for reading!
