Bora Bora Necklace
I named this one "Bora Bora" because just like the waters of the famed French Polynesian Island and its surrounding motus, it features multiple shades of blue. Most of the beads were purchased at Joann's and some of them are a gorgeous shade of deep blue with large gold spots! There are also white & beige pearls (alternated), light & dark blue pearls (some in relief), gold pearls, 2 large variegated opalescent beads, opaline beads, multiple types & shades of glass beads, blue fish-shaped dark blue glass beads, seed beads, blue crystals, 2 large focal beads covered in blue seed beads, bronze faceted rondelles, bronze metal spacers & many more.
The bronze-colored pendant features an octopus and is a locket with magnetic clasp in which something small and rather flat can be hidden, such as a photo. The necklace consists of 3 separate strands woven together so that some of the larger beads are in common, a difficult technique that is extremely time-consuming but necessary for the strands to sit flat on the body. The closure is a bronze-colored toggle clasp. Thanks for looking!
